On Thursday I got to observe other groups I found it good as many of the activities that the groups did were different and enjoyable. The first group which was Belinda's they had a good concept and the kids enjoyed it very much, as it was a bit of an obstacle to go through the hula hoops but they also got the children using many skills, which was good.


The second group which was Bonnie's group used the hola hoops I thought this was good, as the children were trying there hardest to do it and they participated in it and loved it. I thought that the group was really good as they got involved as well and learnt all the children's name's and also encouraged them so the children would believe in themselves.

Finally, the last group was Carla's group they used the parachute and I felt that the children really enjoyed it. Also it was very enjoyable for the children but other groups have done it and I felt that Carla's group thought of more games and made it more entertaining for the kids.

After these four blog entries I'm glad to say its finished!! :) 

Wet Weather 25th of October 2011

On Tuesday we were put inside to interact with the children and the activities they were doing. When I got involved I went around to all groups and saw what they were doing until I participated in a game with a little girl. It was a puzzle game where you had to put foods in the right space on the food pyramid. When I was playing with her, each time she put a piece of food down I would ask
- if she like it? or
- what is was called?
This made me realise that Selina knew what foods where and what they belong too, which taught me that little children aren't all about not know ing things but some as very smart and know a lot about what is happening around them.

On the 17th of October, we went to the childcare centre and my group was the group who were watching/observing the other groups. I was mainly around Annalise, Bonnie, Vanessa and Danielle's group I thought that their games were very good and the children enjoyed them very much. This group also catered to the children's needs, as one group wanted to play duck, duck, goose so the group started to play that which was really good. The games that the groups played was with the parachute this was very good as if got a lot of the children participating and also learning the colours as they would make them run and call out colours. I felt like the group was very prepared and had many activities they could do with the one parachute which was really good. Finally when all the groups got together and played musical status, I felt that it was a great way to get all the children together and they enjoyed it very much.
 

First Day at the childcare Thursday 13th of October

Today at the childcare center I was in a group with Ethan, Caitlin, Sharni and Thelma. We all participated in the activities and demonstrated to the children how to play the games and we even got involved. The activities that we decided to make the children participate in was balloon boop and tunnel ball. Balloon boop was a bit of a warm up game to get the kids up and moving around, I found that the kids enjoyed that game very much as at the childcare they dont get to play with balloons and it was something different. A disadvantage of this game was that all the kids wanted this one balloon so many were pushing their way through each other, so it became a little aggressive, but when we saw that is was starting to get a little aggressive we switched the games to tunnel ball. Tunnel ball was very good and got the children to move around and use the coordination skills. i felt like they enjoyed the game with the ball because they were all involved and all got to have a turn, but also they found to a little challenging but when the got the hang of it they really started to enjoy it. Overall i think the first day at the childcare was very good and our group and the childcare children both enjoyed it.
